Vaccinations

Routine and travel vaccinations for all ages are available during surgery times by appointment with our nurses.

Seasonal flu vaccinations

The seasonal influenza vaccination programme starts around the end of September each year. Influenza can spread very easily through droplets within a cough or sneeze. The vaccination has been shown to be effective and we offer the vaccination to those patients over the age of 65, patients who are pregnant and those with a chronic condition. We are now also inviting children aged 2-4 for an intranasal vaccination and those aged 5-17 with chronic disease to be vaccinated. Please contact the surgery on 435004 during the vaccination programme for an appointment.

Long term conditions clinic

Patients with long term conditions including Diabetes, Ischaemic Heart Disease, COPD, Asthma, Stroke or Epilepsy are encouraged to attend for the monitoring of their condition. The practice provides appointments with the Practice Nurse and GP to ensure that their condition is well managed.

Travel clinic

If you are planning to travel abroad, we ask that you complete a holiday/travel questionnaire before making an appointment with our Practice Nurse Team. From this information, they are able to help and advise you with any vaccinations that are required. Please contact the surgery at least 6 weeks before you travel. Whilst most vaccinations are available on the NHS, some will incur a cost.

Smoking cessation

Appointments can be made at Reception for patients wising to stop smoking, or those who would like advice. The One You advisors are fully trained to help you quit for good.

Minor surgery and joint injections

The surgery can offer joint injections for certain minor problems. This would follow an initial consultation with the doctor.

Well person clinic

Appointments can be made for these at Reception. The checks are geared to encourage a healthy life-style and are performed by the Practice Nurse.

Medicals and forms

The doctors receive various requests for insurance forms  or medicals to be completed. No information is released unless the documents have the signed consent of the patient. Mostly these forms and medicals are paid for by the companies however, if they are not the doctor may charge you for the completion as this work is regarded as being outside of their GMS Contract. If you have any forms for completion, please ask at reception for advice.
