Carers week 5-11 June 2023

Carers Week takes place from 5th to 11th June – it’s an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

This is a time when we’ll be celebrating carers and all that you do – I want to personally thank you for everything you do, and also remind you that Care for the Carers is here should you need any support, or if you would be interested in joining one of our regular social events.

It’s exciting to see many events for carers and in the local community taking place this year. We would like to invite you to our two main events:

  • Annual Carers Voices Event – Celebrating Carers Week on Thursday 8th June, 9.30am to 3pm. Please join us at the beautiful Lansdowne Hotel in Eastbourne to discuss issues that matter to you with key decision makers, get to know what’s available for carers through the Marketplace and enjoy time together over a lovely lunch.
  • Celebrating Carers, Celebrating Diversity on Saturday 10th June, from 11am to 2pm, in Hastings Old Town. Please drop in to relax, enjoy tasty food, relaxing treats, meet other carers and find out more about us, our partners and the Isabel Blackman Centre.

You can read more about the events, and book your free place by following the above links, or alternatively call them on 01323 738390.

Information about other events across East Sussex during the week is available on the website here: www.cftc.org.uk/carersweek2023
